The Jobsite Is Construction's Biggest Factory | FrameTec
Against the record
FieldPrinter, from Dusty Robotics, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 10 Oct 2024: Dusty made FieldPrinter 2 generally available, and said contractors had printed more than 100 million square feet of layout with its robots.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
FrameTec builds prefab wall panels and trusses in Arizona, then installs them on site. COO Josh Lewis says the industry's real bottleneck shows up after the design work is done: "We have an execution problem, and a tremendous amount of it comes down to coordination." FrameTec's fix is to put coordinated information right where the work happens. Before crews arrive, Dusty prints the framing layout on the slab, plus the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC layout for the trades that follow. FrameTec has cut framing cycle times by as much as 75%, and those follow-on trades are 4 to 5x more productive.
